I have a neighbor who loves doing crafts especially with ribbons. She had gave me a visit one day to ask if I could come up with an idea to hold all of her ribbon spools. Knowing that I had a few woodworking tools in the shop , she drew up a design of what it was that she needed. I took the drawing out to my shop and made a ribbon rack for her. She was very pleased and suggested that I try to sell them online. I was chuckling inside not believing that there would be a demand for ribbon racks but thought hey what do I have to lose. I made another ribbon rack and posted it on one of those well known auction sites and to my surprise it sold within 1 hour. I knew that this may actually be a great idea and listed more with much success. I also tried a few local craft stores to see if they would be interested in selling ribbon racks for me. One of the store owners mentioned Etsy to me so I listed there as well and worked out way better than I anticipated. I then replicated various wood items that I had made for my own home and listed those as well as any other new ideas I could think of. I also realized that customers had many different needs when it came to ribbon racks. I then came up with different sizes and designs to suit their needs better thus have 7-8 variations of ribbon racks. I love wood working and love getting emails from customers about how much they love their purchase. I hope to be adding new items in the future and keep this shop going as long as possible.
